Early Life in the New York–New Jersey Metro Area
Jeff ’s life began in Manhattan, New York City, though his time there was brief. After just five days in the hospital, his parents made the decision that the bustling streets of Manhattan weren’t where they wanted to raise their son. Instead, they moved to New Jersey, where Jeff would spend much of his childhood. Growing up, Jeff ’s life was split between two worlds. His mother remained in New Jersey, while his father lived on Long Island, so he often spent his school year in one place and his summers in another. The constant movement between states gave him a sense of flexibility and adaptability — qualities that would serve him well later in life.
