About Falesha As a child growing up in one of Toronto's poor neighbourhoods and witnessing my single mom struggle to make ends meet while renting, the concept of homeownership felt like an unattainable dream. I vividly remember daydreaming about a stable home for my family, a place where we could create lasting memories and build a foundation for a better future. This childhood experience ignited a burning desire within me to help others navigate the complex process of purchasing their first home. I want to empower individuals and families, especially those who come from similar backgrounds, to turn their dreams of homeownership into a reality. The decision to write a book stems from my own journey and the challenges I faced while trying to navigate the housing market. It was a confusing and overwhelming process, filled with unfamiliar terminology, complex financial considerations, and the daunting task of finding the right property. I realized that there is a need for a comprehensive guide that simplifies this process and provides practical advice to first-time homebuyers. Through my book, I aim to demystify the homebuying process and equip readers with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions, avoid common pitfalls, and ultimately achieve their dream of owning a home. Furthermore, I believe that everyone deserves a fair chance at homeownership, regardless of their background or financial situation. Growing up in a disadvantaged area made me acutely aware of the social and economic inequalities that exist in our society. By writing this book, I hope to level the playing field and provide valuable insights to those who may not have access to specialized resources or expert advice. I want to empower individuals to take control of their financial futures, build equity, and break the cycle of poverty. By sharing my own experiences
