SUMMARY
Selling a property is hard work, in order to be successful, you often need extensive experience in Setting the Right Price, Preparing the House to Sell, Marketing Strategies, Legal Documentation, Negotiation Skills, and have a Safety Plan (text or call me to request a free copy) to protect your family and yourself from strangers visiting your home. In many cases, unless you are an expert home seller, going on the FSBO route can be complex, risky, frustrating, costly experience, and time consuming, you must be prepared to stay close to home for days, weeks, maybe months to show your house, you will also have to be accessible during regular work hours when most showings occur. It’s very important to have a Proven Marketing Plan in place, simply sticking a “For Sale” sign in the front lawn and then running an ad in the For Sale by Owner site or in the Sunday paper for your open house, is not enough, the way your home is marketed will have a deep impact on the final price and how long your home would remain on the market, without a professional marketing your property might stay longer in the market or even worse, they never get sold, it has been statistically proven that the FSBO route is extremely tough and that most owners will throw in the towel sooner or later. Taking a quick look at the long list of frequently asked questions on most for sale by owner websites suggests that the process is not as simple as many people assume, and when you get into a difficult situation, it can really pay to have a professional on your side.
