About Ken Hasty REALTOR® Hi, and welcome to my book! I wrote this because I’ve been directly involved in numerous home sales transactions across several states and I’ve seen firsthand what works - and what doesn’t work - when it comes to selling a home. One of my younger clients once told me why he chose to work with me. He said I reminded him of the guy in the insurance commercial who says, “I know a thing or two because I’ve seen a thing or two.” That stuck with me, because "seeing a thing or two" really matters - especially when your home, your equity, and your timeline are on the line. Early in my corporate career, I was transferred from Phoenix to Seattle and needed to sell my home. I hired a REALTOR® “team” that marketed themselves as top producers and members of the so-called top-dollar club. They were very good at selling me on listing my house. Unfortunately, that was about all they did. Months went by with little to no communication, minimal effort, and no real sense of urgency. When the listing contract was about to expire, they suddenly reappeared - asking, of course, to renew it. Frustrated and disappointed, I chose not to. Instead, I sold the home myself the very next month. That experience stayed with me. And when I later became a REALTOR®, I made a clear commitment to myself: I would never simply “list” someone’s home and hope for the best. I would work diligently, communicate consistently, and actively pursue the best possible outcome - selling the home as quickly as reasonably possible and for the strongest terms the market would allow.
