Adding plants is a terrific way to enhance the buyer's experience and create a sense of nature. Small, medium and large well- placed planters make a home feel alive. Artificial is generally fine, if like me, you do not have a green thumb. A vase of fresh flowers adds a sensual visual and olfactory experience. However, once again, artificial works well too. Seasonal embellishments like wreaths of fall colored leaves or evergreens with red berries add a sense of warmth. It is undebatable that great kitchens sell homes. Most people that stage a kitchen use typical kitchen items that suggest a place for great cooking. These are great but go the next step and add some nature to elevate the experience. Add plants or place a big bowl of fresh fruit on the kitchen counter, island or dining table. Green apples are a great choice! A little-known secret is that yellow is the most memorable color. Memorable is a great plus. If you create a centerpiece or display or use fresh flowers make sure it includes yellow! And always let there be light. Make sure that the windows are clear and allow the greatest amount of light to enter the room. Do not cover them with window treatments and fully raise blinds.
