During the shopping period, you will meet with your REALTOR® for tours of homes in which you might be interested. They will give you insight into the floor plans, the home’s pertinent selling points and any visible deficiencies in need of repair. They will also give you the rundown for local activities, restaurants, shopping centers and schools nearby. When purchasing a home, it will be advised to order a home inspection. Even if your home is being built, a home inspection is still strongly recommended. Your REALTOR® will provide you with a list of references to streamline your search. Once you have scheduled the home inspection, please notify your REALTOR®. They will provide additional guidance in addressing potential items for repair and/or pricing negotiations. Your REALTOR® will also provide oversight of the purchasing transaction, ensuring coordination and completion is done through the roof inspector, attorneys, lenders and all other professionals involved with the purchase of the home. If negotiations need to be made over the list price, your REALTOR® will perform the negotiations and review any final closing documents. They will be present whenever there are documents to go through and sign.
