Quezon Province is a strategic location to duplicate a modern Metro Manila and it is located at the east coast of Luzon facing Pacific Ocean having an area of 892,601 hectares or 8,926.01 km² with a population of only 1,987,030 people (2010 census) being subdivided into 41 local government units. The municipalities to be developed are 17 out of the 41 local government units of Quezon. These 17 coastal towns have land area of 370,695 hectares and 714,386 people. Quezon Province, east of Metro Manila, is the 8th largest province in the Philippines. It is the country's leading producer of coconut products such as coconut oil and copra. A large part of the province is covered in coconut plantations. Other major crops are rice, corn, banana, and coffee. Fishing is also a large part of the province's economy. Generally, the province's topography is characterized by rolling hills, steep to very steep terrain with few plains, valleys and swamps like San Francisco California and this city became a tourist spot when it was developed. International seaport links people to jobs, markets, and services worldwide. Jurong Port had entered into the container handing business formally in 2001 with the initial purchase of three container quay cranes. The critical mass achieved in terms of container throughout by 2004 has formed the basis for it to expand its capacity to the recommended 2.4 million TEU by 2010, while at the same time, retaining its competitiveness and capacity to cater to some 10 million tons of bulk and conventional cargo p.a.
