Genine Gilbert - SIMPLIFYING YOUR FIRST HOME PURCHASE

Once you have selected your top 3-5 homes, share them with your agent. You can compare her selections to yours and get the party started. She may have homes, that you did not see as agents often have a list of "off market" properties that you would not have access to. While touring, ask questions and take notes.

BUYING STEP #5: Pick a Location

Among all the choices to make, location ranks high. While touring homes with your agent, pay close attention to the neighborhoods and note the proximity to school and work functions, weekend activities and any friends or family you may have in the area. This could become a tie-breaker! Remember homes are more than just properties – they're places where memories are built, families are raised, and a sense of belonging is created. While every family has different demands for their home, it's important to be able to visualize yourself and your family really "living" there. Find the right balance of bustle and tranquility that works for everyone.

BUYING STEP #6: Home Design

Some home-buyers, have very specific requirements when it comes to home design. You or someone in your family may have an issue with stairs, or you may want all of your children on the same floor. You may have visiting friends or family that need a first floor guest room. Be sure to consider everyone's needs when choosing your home.
