About Ross K Tanaka Ross was born in Kailua at Castle Hospital on the island of Oahu but was mostly raised in Aiea where he played baseball and football growing up. As a child, Ross had aspirations of being a carpenter like his grandpa. He actually ended up working in the construction industry for seven years rising up the ranks quickly from apprentice to journeyman to working foreman which was the highest position that could be obtained within the company. While he was a journeyman and working foreman he ran jobs for his company, coordinated and communicated with general contractors/superintendents, coworkers, other trades, had to plan the best way to do the job, determined who would do each part of the job, problem solve, train apprentices and report back to the boss every morning. When he was younger, never in a million years did he think he’d stumble into the real estate industry, but you can’t always predict where life will take you. Ross learned one of the most important things in life by observing his Mom while growing up. What he learned is that actions speak louder than words. This is a motto that he strives to live his life by every day and a value that he is working to instill in his 2 boys. Ross got into the real estate industry five years ago and started out as a buyer specialist on a real estate team where he specialized in only working with buyers for 2 years, then decided to move on to be an independent agent so he could serve both buyers and sellers. Being a buyer specialist has given Ross unique insight into what buyers and buyer agents look for and how a home should be presented so that it appeals to the masses. From pricing to pictures to description and everything in between, Ross could tell when the listing agent executed key points in the marketing and presentation of a home to perfection. Writing offers in a sellers market has given him
