Building a home from scratch can mean you end up in a development so new that you don't have many other neighbors nearby or great proximity to amenities such as parks, playgrounds, shops, restaurants and more. Some families might choose to buy homes in slightly more established neighborhoods for this reason.
There's less to figure out and fewer people to talk to.
Let's be honest, building a home from scratch means dealing with a number of different people. From architects to contractors to interior designers, many people will be in need of your attention and your input on every single detail when you build a home. For this reason, families who have no wish to deal with any of this might elect to buy instead of build.
