GENERAL CLEANING CHECKLIST
Remove cobwebs from ceilings and corners. Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures. Wipe down blinds and window treatments. Wash walls before repainting. Clean mirrors, patio doors, and glass surfaces. Polish wooden furniture and floors. Wipe down leather furniture. Deep clean kitchen appliances, inside and out.
Scrub sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, and countertops. Ensure tile grout is free of stains, discoloration, or mildew. Vacuum rugs and carpets, and mop all floors.
KITCHEN AND BATH: HIGH-IMPACT AREAS
Kitchens and bathrooms are often the deciding factor for buyers.
A clean, inviting kitchen makes a home feel warm and functional. Keep counters free of clutter, wipe down cabinet surfaces, and ensure all appliances look and smell fresh. Bathrooms should feel pristine and spa-like. Remove all signs of daily use, keep surfaces spotless, and eliminate odors. Buyers may overlook a child’s messy room, but a dirty bathroom or kitchen could cost you the sale.
PET PEEVES
While pets are beloved members of many households, not all buyers are pet-friendly. Some are allergic, while others may simply dislike the idea of pets in a home. Minimize pet odors – Even if you’re used to them, buyers will notice.
