by Rick Davis - This Incredible Adventure Called Life

pinned! Burlas spoke of my bravery for several years after I had graduated. Our football team was awesome too and we won the County Championship. They did not have state playoffs back in 1972. One of my favorite teachers was Mrs. Luck. She was a black lady teaching in an almost all white high school. Mrs. Luck had a great sense of humor and would make comments as she handed back our test papers. "A for awesome, B for brilliant, etc. When she got to me she would say D for dumb!" Everyone would laugh, including myself. I love the fact that my wonderful lady Anne was a high school math teacher, I am amazed at how smart Anne is! I was one of the first in my class to get a driver's license, on the day I turned 16. On the way home one day I was hit from behind by an old Ford Galaxy traveling 40 mph and I suffered from whiplash. My back and neck were hurting for years. I first went through a heat traction therapy and then started a painful workout program to strengthen my damaged muscles. It worked and by the fall of my Junior year I was back playing football and wrestling and I was on the golf team in the Spring. I graduated High School and went on to get my Associates Degree from Montgomery College. During my college days I continued to work as a restaurant manager. I went skiing for two weeks in Vermont every year. I traveled to Florida with Tim and Jack Marble to go scuba and cave diving. Went skydiving with my friends and I got my real estate license.
