by Rick Davis - This Incredible Adventure Called Life

While getting dressed for the game some guy came by his locker, grabbed his spikes and disappeared down the hall. Tony just stared at him? A few minutes later the guy brought back his spikes, all clean and polished, gotta love it. Before the game the coach said just relax, we probably won't need you but stay loose just in case. Well, we got to the 7th inning and the Yankees had runners on first and second with no outs. We had a one run lead and this was a must win game. So, Tony enters a game with a sold-out stadium and 20,000 screaming fans with the game on the line, no stress! He throws his first pitch and the batter lines a shot right up the middle. Tony jumps and snags the line drive, turns and fires to first for a one pitch double play. He got the final out on a pop up and shut the Yankees down. Heck of a start to his AA career. The coach had a big smile on his face when he told Tony "Great job! Now sit down and relax, you are done for the night". We defeated the Yankees and went on to the playoffs. Tony played professional baseball for 6 years with a brief interruption after his third year because of an injury. Seems his ulnar nerve, by his elbow, was inflamed and causing him pain.
