not extra shelving or storage. Buyers will not want to find the microwave used as a breadbox or the oven as a place for extra cookware. That makes your kitchen appear like it lacks storage. • Bathroom -Make sure everything is bright, clean, and organized. Your goal is to make it seem like the bathrooms are rarely used. Take everything out of the cabinets. Keep ONLY what you need and discard everything else. Find a secure spot for jewelry, prescription medications, keepsakes, and cosmetics/ perfumes. Store hair products and styling tools neatly in the cabinets. • Bedrooms - When it comes to clothing, people generally wear 20% of the clothes they own 80% of the time. The focus is on showcasing closet space. Only hang the clothes that you wear most often, and store the rest. Imagine how much larger your closets will look with 80% less stuff! Get everything out of the closets that you aren't wearing in the current season. Also ditch the items that aren't your size or style any more. Group the remaining items by color. • Dining Areas - Clear clutter off all flat surfaces, including the dining table, leaving only subtle decor, such as a vase of flowers. • Living Areas (living rooms, family rooms, and great rooms) — Gather books, magazines, remotes, toys, gaming gadgets, and throws. Put as much away as possible. Again, clear all flat surfaces, pack away nonessential items and store magazines and electronics. Fold and drape throws on chairs or stow in closets. Make sure everything visible has a purpose.
