But just because you’ll never wear the clothes again, that doesn’t mean someone won’t enjoy them. You can donate the clothes, place them on consignment at a thrift shop, or sell them online to pick up some extra cash. >Pile of baby things to pass down: Let’s face it, the shelf life of most baby clothes and toys is about three months. If your kids are now teenagers, pass all those baby items to siblings and cousins who are in their childbearing years. You’ll save them a ton of money.
• Turn your clutter into cash: Have a moving sale, which kills two birds with one sale. Not only will you make some money on stuff you don’t want, but bargain hunters will see your “For Sale” sign, a marketing tool, and perhaps spread the word. Make sure you have brochures on hand to pass out to people who show up at your sale. • Don’t forget your closets: Nothing is off limits when you show your home, and buyers will open every closet and cabinet. A cluttered closet looks smaller, while a neat closet looks like you’ve got room to spare. Get rid of anything you haven’t touched in a year. Also, invest in those slim, velvet hangers, which take up less space in your closet and make it look larger. • Tidy your garage: If your garage is so stuffed that it won’t even accommodate your car, you’ve got a lot of
