biggest hurdles for older sellers and buyers is realizing they may not be able to stay in the area they've grown to call home. Often home prices have gone up so much that it could mean leaving the area where their friends, doctors, and religious organizations are located. This can become a key deciding factor. On the other hand, sellers will often tell me they are moving to be closer to their kids and grandkids. This is something I caution on because things don't always work out like you think. Then you've moved to another state and the kids and grandkids aren't there anymore. Maybe your kids get relocated for a job, or maybe being so close just isn't working out. Regardless of the reason, think long and hard about moving to be close to your kids and grandkids. As you can see, all of these components comprise the important factor of location. In the end, you need to picture yourself living not only in the home in which you’re interested but also in its location. Can you really see yourself living there? This is an important question to ask and consider before you proceed with the home-buying process. I always tell my clients, after being away for whatever reason, can you see yourself coming home to this home every day? **If you have decided to move to an assisted living community or that you going to be renting from here on out, the next chapters will explain the selling process from a buyer's perspective but it's the same. Your Realtor® will walk you through the process and a good one will have vendors they can refer to you to help with the downsizing of your things and packing up what you want to take with you. They will even have movers who can help move you. I know it can be very overwhelming but trust me, as I mentioned earlier, it's better you make the decision and stay in control.
