Moving is one of the most stressful and tiring things anyone can ever go through. It can also be an uplifting, refreshing experience. I give you this to take with you: Nothing remains as it was. If you know this, you can begin again, with pure joy in the uprooting — Judith Minty. It needs careful planning, whether the move is across cities or within the same area. It involves a lot of work, from sorting to packing, labeling, unpacking, and arranging all your “stuff ” in your new home. Unfortunately, most of us have to go through it at some point. It’s a necessity that can hardly be avoided or ignored. Luckily, the stress can be minimized, and the possible problems can be avoided with help and resources. As with most tasks, organization and careful planning are key to moving. A checklist will help you remain organized with sorting, labeling, and packing your things.
PREPARING YOUR CHECKLIS UR CHECKLIST
Moving your entire home means you must prepare at least two checklists. The first is a checklist of all the items you’ll bring, grouped according to the room to which they belong. In addition to indicating the room, it’s a great idea to number the boxes. You can suggest where each item is packed on your checklist. It will make it easier to sort and identify your things while moving. The second checklist you need is a list of all the tasks involved 65
