Buying a home is an exciting event, but the process of finding the right one can be daunting. It’s a major investment and it's an emotional time making lifestyle decisions. It isn’t like buying a pair of shoes from the department store that is a bit snug, because you can’t just return the house if you’re not satisfied. Once you buy, you’re in it for the long haul. To avoid costly mistakes that could haunt you for years, you need to make sure you do your homework properly when house hunting.
TIMELINE - HOW LONG SHOULD YOU ALLOW?
If you are a first-time homebuyer or have not been in the real estate arena for many years you need to understand the timeline to purchase a home. If you are going to be financing a home with a mortgage, you should expect the process to take approximately 45 days from the time you get a contract accepted to the time you close on the home and get the keys.
