Heidrun Gross - HOW TO SELL HOMES FAST FOR TOP DOLLAR

Real estate courses that prospective agents take in order to prepare themselves for the real estate salesperson exam do not teach a person how to actually sell real estate. Rather, their purpose is to teach a would-be agent about real estate terminology, ethics, and law, which is what the exam is designed to test. Since real estate licensing fees are a major source of revenue for the State of California, the real estate salesperson exam was purposely made extremely easy to pass. Moreover, there is no limit on the number of times a person can retake it until they do pass. The truth of the matter is, a real estate license is not proof a person knows how to sell real estate. All a real estate license does is act as a shield to protect the State from liability. Because an agent passed the exam, if anything goes wrong, the agent cannot claim ignorance, and therefore, it is the agent, not the State, who bears responsibility. In short, the Department of Real Estate (DRE) does not care if an agent knows how to sell anything. All the DRE cares about is that an agent knows what will happen if the agent ignores DRE regulations and/or breaks the law, and having a real estate license is de facto proof that the agent does know, or at least did know, at the time they passed the exam.

NO SUPERVISION

In times past, it was of little consequence whether new agents knew anything about the actual business of selling real estate because it was understood that, once they passed the exam, new agents would learn about the business from their employing broker.
