Craig Speck - Auto Insurance

When you talk to your insurance company or agent, there are some things you’ll likely want to ask:

; ; Am I covered for this accident? ; ; What is my deductible? ; ; If I choose to file a claim, when is it due?

; ; If I file a claim, how long will it take to process it? ; ; Do I need to get estimates for my car repair, or will you do that? ; ; If I need a rental car, do I have coverage? Regardless of whether you plan on filing a claim, your company or agent will send you a claim formand explainwhat documents you’ll need to send them. This will likely include the police report plus any medical and repair bills. If you’re in a no-fault state, you’ll file a personal injury claim. If you have medical payments coverage, your medical bills will be required for review. If you do decide to file a claim, do so carefully so you don’t miss anything. Be sure to keep the originals for your records and only send in copies. You’ll also want to forward any communications from the other driver, insurance company, or lawyer to your insurance agent or company. Of course, I’m always here to help make this often-stressful process as easy and painless as possible. I’ll answer all the questions above plus any others that come up. And since I’ve helped a lot of people with filing claims, I may have suggestions for things to include in your claim that you might not think of. • • •
