That’s the purpose of home staging—it brings out the best in your property. Minimal staging entails decluttering, cleaning, and shining what you’ve got. Deluxe staging means transforming your lived-in house into a model home—at least for as long as it’s on the market. Top-notch staging can entail painting, recarpeting, and replacing shabby, dated furnishings with new, fashion-forward items. A Cinderella transformation can cost from a few hundred dollars to $4,500 per month. But professionals say staging your home is essential to getting the best price in the least amount of time. The National Association of Realtors®’ “Profile of Home Staging” provides some impressive statistics. • 29% of sellers’ agents representing staged homes reported an increase of 1% to 5% of the dollar value offered by buyers when compared to similar, unstaged homes. • 39% of sellers’ agents said that staging a home “greatly decreases” the time required to sell a home. • 49% of buyers’ agents said that staged homes had an effect
