Sign-in sheets: They don’t have to be fancy, but your sign-in sheets should ask visitors for their name and contact information (cell phone and email address). Keep plenty of pens on hand, because they will disappear. Brochure: Make it on your computer, but make sure it contains all your home’s vital details and a contact number for you. Get rid of kids: Send them on playdates or to Grandma’s for the day. Kids get underfoot and distract you and clients. Be prepared: Know the answers to questions about taxes, schools, shopping, trash pickup, recycling, utility costs, and neighbors. Follow up: Grab the sign-up sheet and follow up with visitors. Ask for feedback and try to determine if interested folks have the buying power to purchase your home now. HOW I CAN HELP: When you list with me, I’ll draw on my expertise to: • Market open houses so agents and qualified buyers attend. • Your Open House will be featured on hundreds of real estate websites. • Everyone will get a nice pen to keep and a small clipboard with a feedback form to fill out. • Follow up with attendees and agents. • Provide marketing materials to prospective buyers. • Place strategically Open House signs directing the traffic to your house. • Provide shoe covers or politely ask people to remove their shoes. This is done with a shoe cover basket and sign.
