Sphere of Influence Guide-Authorify

Chapter 12: Seasonal Marketing   —Back to School   The start of the school year is one of the best times to reach parents. It brings countless  opportunities to add them to your sphere of influence.

The end of the summer and subsequent return to school is a perfect time to freshen a campaign and  find new prospects.

It's also the best time to highlight schools in your area in your marketing.

Great schools draw residents to the communities they serve. Neighborhoods with at least one good  elementary school or middle school have greater home values, as well as higher price appreciation  over the long term compared to homes without good schools nearby.   If you can get to know the parents whose kids attend great schools, you can add them to your  sphere of influence. Furthermore, these parents have friends who likely will want to move to an  area with great schools, and work with a great agent: you!

Here are some marketing ideas for the start of the school year and fall:

Drop off gifts or goodie bags.

Something simple like hard candy or some sort of pencil, eraser or office supply is a good idea.  Don't forget to leave your card or some type of logo with your number on it.

There are a couple of ways you can go about this. You can give gifts to the front office and they can  keep them there, or give them out as they see fit.

Or, you can get involved somehow with an event and get the gifts straight into parents’ hands.

Donate school supplies that feature your contact information.

Branding notebooks or two-pocket folders with your name won't be all that expensive.

Schools are always in need of supplies, and teachers are typically grateful to anyone who donates so  they don’t have to use their own money.
