happen in areas where the soil is expansive or shrinks.
Doors and Windows that aren’t Working Right
If you go through the tour and notice that doors and windows require some effort to open and close it is often a warning sign that there is a foundation problem. Check all the windows the doors in each room. If you can tell that the doors or windows are starting to look warped, that is also a telling sign. Before moving any further, tell the owner you want an inspection with results.
Plumbing Issues
The issue is usually just clogged pipes or low water pressure, but it needs to be checked out to make sure it isn’t a sign of a bigger problem. There are many reasons plumbing could fail, for example: • Not enough proactive maintenance; failing to keep sewer lines clear to prevent clogging; • Not fixing a problem fast enough. If there is a toilet that always runs and isn’t fixed, it can cause bigger problems; • Too much water pressure; • Age and not replacing fixtures that need it. Any of these can lead to much worse foundation problems if not properly addressed. It can affect the soil under your foundation. That’s why if there are any problems with these, even if they are fixed the owner should still get a full inspection.
