RENTING A U-HAUL TRUCK
You might decide to rent a U-Haul (or other moving) truck, which you’d use to load, move, and unpack all your things when moving from one place to another, instead of a professional moving company. This is certainly a less expensive alternative; however, you will have to do more of the work, such as the packing, loading, and driving, yourself. If you have a manageable number of items to bring with you, then this could be a great way to cut costs. Truck size matters. You need to pick the right size. For example, while the objects from a 1-bedroom apartment might just fit a 16-cubic-meter truck, the content of a fully furnished 3-bedroom house might require up to 2 or 3 trips of a 26-cubic-meter truck. Avoid a major headache and frustration by ensuring you get the right size for your moving truck, especially if you’re facing a long- distance move. You can call on your friends and family for help in packing and loading your things into the rented truck. This will definitely make it easier to do the moving without professional help.
