As a seller, it’s important to know that agent compensation is not fixed by law and it is no longer listed in the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). Instead, these terms are negotiated directly between the parties involved. This change provides more flexibility in how compensation is structured, whether it’s a percentage of the sale price, a flat fee, or another arrangement. A thorough listing agreement should include clear disclosures specifying the compensation terms and other key details to ensure transparency and mutual understanding.
