neighborhood, do Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM). It's about 17 to 18 cents per postcard. It's a lot cheaper than mailing things yourself. ● Have Information Ready for Nosy Neighbors When you throw a successful open house that’s well-attended and highly promoted, you show that you know what you're doing. If you want to push that impression even further, hand out marketing materials that show you're different. Provide stats about the neighborhood and offer to show neighbors what their homes are worth. ● Knock on Neighbors’ Doors Finally, another thing you can do to promote your open house is to knock on doors (remember, be sure to check your state laws before you do). Introduce yourself to all of the neighbors, invite them to the open house, and get them to come to the event. You want people to come through the door and experience what you do differently as compared to everyone else. Everyone who walks in is a potential lead. Quick recap: ● Arrange the open house as close to the listing as you can. ● Put up tons of signs, mail out tons of postcards, and knock on doors. ● When people show up, have something to give to both buyers and sellers. You want to separate yourself from other agents. #23: Networking Networking sometimes gets a bad rap, and a lot of people hate it, myself included. I remember when I was a new real estate agent, I would go to the Chamber of Commerce meetings and I would meet a lot of other real estate agents. If you network correctly, it can be a huge source of listings and deals for your business. Let's talk about some things you can do differently when it comes to networking. Networking is all about building relationships and connecting with those people on a consistent basis to stay in front of them. However, with the example of the Chamber meetings, networking doesn’t really work if there are more Realtors than anyone else at the event. Pick and choose effective networking events.
