and assistance they may need to make a positive and productive move, and/or relocation. I don't sit on the sideline and jump in just when my clients are interested in selling or buying a home. Since I have done it myself numerous times, these events are not a mystery, a challenge, or an obstacle for me. Moving and/or relocating can be managed well.
FIRST, SHOULD YOU HIRE A FULL U HIRE A FULL-SERVICE RELOCATION COMPANY?
What is a relocation company? Put simply, it’s a third-party company that assists with all aspects of a big move to another location. Relocation companies might include people to help you find your new home (as well as a temporary home, if needed); help you sell your current home; help you pack up and move; and even help other members of your family find another job. Many times, if a company is asking an employee to relocate, they might offer a relocation company to aid and expedite the process, especially if you’re expected to relocate quickly. Alternatively, you can always hire one yourself. Bear in mind that a full-service relocation company offers many services and benefits, and a relocation can easily get VERY expensive.
WHAT ABOUT PROFESSIONAL MOVERS?
On the other hand, you may indeed want to hire pro movers to move, or even pack, your household items. For a move this large, you probably won’t be able to coerce family and friends into helping you in exchange for gas money, beer and pizza. If you are moving for work, the cash to pay for movers might be part of the deal, but if not, you can still hire reasonably priced movers, especially if you elect to do the packing yourself.
