Juan J. Garcia, REALTOR® - NEW IN TOWN?

questions, and take notes on what sounds helpful. Remember to ask about certain neighborhoods, shopping, dining, traffic, walkability and anything else you’re interested in.

Figure out your priorities.

Now, what have you realized is most important to you? Great schools for your children? Good coffee and interesting art galleries? Plenty of restaurants so you don’t have to cook? Whatever you are looking for in your ideal lifestyle, it’s time to figure out your priorities and make a checklist for when you drill down to look at specific neighborhoods and homes.

Narrow down neighborhoods.

Now that you know more about your priorities and what your new town offers, you’re ready to pick out a few neighborhoods. Select neighborhoods based on your price range and proximity to whatever priorities you chose: nature trails, shopping and dining, community amenities, etc.

Find an agent.

Of course, all of this is much easier when you have a dedicated agent working on your behalf. Still, knowing what you’re looking for makes it even easier for your Realtor to help you find it, so don’t skip these steps, even if you have an agent! I like to save my clients time. So I send them links to valuable resources to read, whether they're relocating, investing, or just generally looking. Ask me, I can send you links to relevant sites, blogs, and online resources to save you what's most precious to all of us... time.
