About Brian Merritt After a being an Apartment Manager for a few years, followed by a successful career as a Magazine Publisher / Photographer / Distribution Manager - Brian was recruited by a Real Estate Brokerage to become a Realtor in 1989 while living in Salt Lake City. In 2000, Brian moved his young family back to Oregon where he grew up and decided to switch to the other side of the Real Estate industry and became a Loan Officer. Brian has always been among the top producers with each company he had worked for - but each time he moved to a different company, it was because he wanted to be able to serve his customers better. Finally - way overdue, Brian finally opened his own company in 2018 and Minuteman Mortgage quickly grew to 21 employees in Oregon and Washington. In 2021, Brian relocated to Detroit Lakes Minnesota to be near a couple of daughters that had also relocated here, and expanded Minuteman Mortgage to include Minnesota and North Dakota in addition to his Oregon and Washington office. Since his arrival in Detroit Lakes, Brian has quickly acclimated to the local culture and became engrained into the community. He is currently involved with: • Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) - DL Branch Presidency • Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary - Club President 2024-2025 • Detroit Lakes Chamber of Commerce - Ambassador • Lakes Country Networking (LCN) - Membership Chair • Detroit Lakes Kiwanis Club - Member • Propel DL - Board Member
