Your staff probably shouldn’t move your furniture and expensive desks. A moving company is almost a must. For the moving company to give a proper quote and expected time, tell them the weight (or estimated weight) of your different pieces of equipment. This will affect the price of your move as well. You don’t need to risk workplace injuries for no reason (breaking down a chair or desk is different than moving them). Make sure that your employees take their computer, printer, and other desk items on their own. No need to pay someone to move those simple things for your employees when it will only take them a trip to their car and back. If there are especially fragile objects, note those down and be sure to let the movers know about them. They will add extra care for the things that you request.
GET RID OF EXCESS THINGS
Don’t take things you don’t need. You don’t want a new office cluttered for no good reason. Take an hour or two before the move for employees to help get rid of unneeded stuff. Plus, this will potentially save you money on moving expenses as well. It’s just fewer items and less weight that the movers will have to deal with. Everyone around the entire office should have the task of not only unpacking their full desk but determining what doesn’t need to make the move. Check the kitchen, storage areas, and anywhere else. Shred all unnecessary papers and throw out old office furniture that will eventually be replaced. Or donate anything you don’t need and eventually use it as a tax write-off. If that’s too much work, however, just dump it. The less you have to move the
