Kevin Belzer has been a member with Authorify since about June and is closing more than $4 million in deals this December. He attributes this success to the books and what he calls their “stickability.” In an interview with Michael Walter, Kevin shared his thoughts about how having a book with Authorify helps him build authority, demonstrate his expertise, and ultimately land clients: “[The book] has stickability to it. So, even if you don’t get the listing at that moment, the book is staring at them.” Kevin went on to describe a recent situation in which a potential client said that she was planning to list her property with a relative. This relative was just getting their license and was new to real estate. But, after receiving Kevin’s book and following much of the valuable advice in the book, this potential client changed her mind. What changed her mind? Kevin explains that by giving this potential client his book, “...she sees all the value I’m bringing…. And then she makes the corrections in [the book], and then finally she calls me and goes ‘okay, I’m going to list with you because clearly you have more expertise.’....So, we get the listing and it went under contract a couple days ago.” As Kevin puts it, stickability means that the book is “just around.” As this potential client was preparing her property to go on the market, his book was there–the client could turn to the book at any time to find answers to her questions. Moreover, a printed book has staying power well beyond its first reader. Kevin reminds us that “Most people don’t throw away a book. Even if they [donate it], then your book lives on.”
