When you have any doubts, remember this scary statistic--the average Realtor® sells, " less than one house per year ". with so many agents to choose from, make sure the one working for you is a full-time agent with a track record of success and results, not someone that plays at selling houses on weekends as part of their side- hustle. Getting a real estate license is the easy part, becoming a true expert in the field requires years of hands on experience buying and selling homes, and hundreds of hours of continuing education. Bottom line: Avoid hiring the wrong person by interviewing agents and selecting the one who offers detailed sales data and a strategic listing price, not just a higher one.

Selling your home is a business transaction between a qualified buyer and yourself. If you have enjoyed living in your home for years but must now leave it because of your divorce, don’t let emotional attachments to the home affect how you price it. The most objective price will come from the CMA provided by your real estate agent. Memorable moments spent in your home are priceless — literally, because they do nothing to add to the selling price. It is also unrealistic to add dollars because of the labor spent making the house into your home; the new owner neither benefits from nor cares about your efforts.
