Will Dixon, REALTOR® - THE OFFICE AROUND THE CORNER: A LEASING GUIDE

People want to work in a fun and energizing environment. If they don’t see that from your office they may look for a place does have that. Now more than ever, the younger generation in the workforce is choosing workplaces with in-house amenities and areas to hang out in. These offices have multiple in-house dining options, including healthy eating choices. They also have wifi areas and other services inside. I’m not saying your office has to have this to attract top young talent, but these are just some of the options that the age group under 34 looks for. Location is the other issue here. Attracting talent to the top areas with the best amenities surrounding it is so much easier than bringing them to work in a run-down area. Parking and traffic are factors here as well, just as they are with retaining your own employees.

YOUR COMPANY CUL ANY CULTURE IS TRENDING SOUTH.

Company culture can be affected by many things. It can be dramatically affected by all the things I’ve already talked about in this chapter. All of the reasons mentioned for getting new space so far will make your employees really unhappy. Traffic, no parking, no space, outdated structures, nothing good around the office, and no amenities are things that make people not want to come to work. The opposite of those are things that make people want to go to work. A move can change your culture. You may need a culture change for other reasons. Maybe you had a massive turnover and bad working habits were introduced to the new staff. For whatever reason, fixing it sooner than later is extremely important.
