Location could be considered the biggest factor when it comes to choosing an office space. Working in an area that’s easy to commute to and from has massive importance. In almost every city, traffic and parking are huge concerns for employees. With an office space that is accessible and not in congested areas, employees don’t worry about being on time or getting caught in traffic every day. Also, being near restaurants and entertainment go far for employee morale. Survey your employees to find out the factors most important to them. It may be being near to public transportation, or out of traffic areas. Learn exactly where they commute from to build a plan that will work for each one of your employees or as many as possible. Many brokers will help put this together for you. It’s part of what is called an “employee map.” Studies have proved that when businesses move far away from their original location, employees (especially the lowest paid ones), are more likely to leave for a better-located job.
