Renting out your home is a great option if your property has been languishing on the market and you’ve been unsuccessful in selling it, or even if you are unable to sell it for enough money to pay off your mortgage balance. Perhaps you first purchased your home when it was worth more than it’s worth today, and you can’t seem to sell it without needing to write out a check. If this is the case, sometimes the better alternative is to rent out your house so you don’t lose money while you wait for the market to improve to relist your home.
