MAKE THE MOST OF INSPECTIONS AND INS NS AND INSPECTORS
There are different types of house inspections available. General or residential inspections will observe and give an evaluation of the house elements and systems. Consider the list of inspections below. These inspections will apply to all homes including new homes. Note that the cost of an inspection can range from $400-$1200 depending on the report requested and the specialization required: • Exterior: Water drainage systems and condition of outside elements, such as yard, trees, pathways, fences, decks and stairs. • Structural elements: Construction type and age, visible foundation and framing condition, structure’s integrity and upright position. • Roof: Type, age, installation quality, visible damage, shingles and gutters' condition. • Windows: Type, age, installation quality, visible damage and condition, screens, warranty, sound and heat barrier quality. • Plumbing system: Type, age, leaks, water pressure, faucets, showers, material, hot water system, and septic tank if applicable. • Electrical system: Type, age, electrical panel size capacity, condition, and code, fuses, visible wiring, and other safety issues.
