About Lorna Sherland Lorna was raised in Kingston, Jamaica, WI with her brother. As a child, Lorna had aspirations of being a doctor. Never in a million years did she think she’d stumble into the real estate industry, but you can’t always predict where or when you’ll discover what you’re meant to do in life. Lorna was taught at a young age that if you want something in life, you have to work for it. And boy did that apply growing up in Jamaica! So that’s what she did. And she worked hard! As the years went by, Lorna worked her way from a billing clerk to Controller in a few prestigious advertising agencies in New York, never wavering in her resolve to become the best version of herself with each career move. Lorna got into the real estate industry 20 years ago when the Corporate America rat race got too much for her to "manage". The inequality became unbearable and the long hours, especially during the year-end period for accounting, made it sure that time with family was never happening. She set out to become her own boss. She had always loved real estate and believes that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Her experience buying her first home and having a repeat offense of inequality told her that she could make a difference in her decision to join the real estate industry. It's been a passion since! As her career advanced, Lorna Sherland found her stride working with and matching home sellers and home buyers of single family units and some multifamily units where the owner would also occupy a part of the residence. She's an expert in the Hudson Valley area of New York, serving Orange, Ulster, Dutchess and Rockland counties and specialized in selling the homes for top dollar! For out of state owners, Lorna takes care of the entire process, from clean out to closing and sends the
