Can the insurance company cancel my policy?

In some cases, yes. In each state, there’s a set grace period that starts at the time you sign the policy, and your company can cancel it within this timeframe. Outside of that grace period, they can cancel your policy if you don’t pay if you do something to get your license suspended or revoked, or if you commit fraud against the company or lie to them on your application. While this is technically not canceling, companies can refuse to renew your policy if you had a bad year when you did something like cause an accident while driving drunk or if your driving record becomes worse for other reasons. Can my unmarried partner or roommate be on my insurance policy? Sometimes. If there are multiple vehicles and they’re either owned by the same person or both people’s names are on both vehicle registrations, you will likely be able to be named as policyholders.
