Maria Grant - THE INSIDER'S GUIDE TO AUTO INSURANCE

• The man was unloading his truck while his toddler was inside the cab. Somehow, his son accidentally put the truck into gear. It rolled across the street slowly but did a lot of damage along the way — breaking gas and water lines, a couple of windows, and an outside wall of the neighbor’s house across the street (as in, the car went partially through the front of their house). • One scary word: sinkholes. • A man was driving his Toyota Yaris about 55 miles per hour up a two-lane road in the country when suddenly two cars came speeding over the hill and right towards him. One driver was trying to get around the other and hadn’t accounted for the fact that he couldn’t see over the crest of the hill. The Yaris driver quickly pulled out of the way, causing his car to roll over. Luckily, he had only minor injuries. Unfortunately, his car was totaled. • A man in Seattle purposefully caused an accident — but for a great reason. He noticed that the driver of a swerving car was passed out and quickly approaching a busy intersection. The man, an engineer with a fighter jet program, quickly drove in front so the swerving car could rear-end him and stop. Everyone was fine, although the cars were a bit banged up. It turned out the passed-out driver had unknowingly had a heart attack a few days prior, and his bad circulation had caused him to faint.
