and saved enough money to put 20% down on a brand new $200,000 house in Lake Linganore, Frederick County, MD. Unfortunately, after 20 years together Catherine and I were going through a divorce. So, I moved out and down to live in mom and dad’s water front home on the Chesapeake Bay. It was actually Paradise! Catherine stayed in the new house and eventually met Mark Poslosky. Mark is a superstar who took good care of the kids and Catherine with love and respect. Thank you Mark! I secured a position with a Florida mortgage company that allowed me to work at the bay house. I ran the electric and phone lines down to the dock and had the best office in the world. I would make money during the day, go for a two-mile jog, pull up the crab traps, cook the biggest crabs, watch the sunset and enjoy a cold Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beer. Unfortunately, right about that time mom was diagnosed with colon cancer. I moved back home to help her and dad with things, it was good to be there for her. Her PCP needed to refer her to an Oncology doctor at Suburban Hospital but nothing was happening. We needed to get mom admitted before the cancer got worse and the intestinal lining burst. So, I went to Dr. Saia’s office and asked the front desk if I could speak with Dr. Saia to get her admitted. When the office staff would not let me speak with Dr. Saia I decided to just walk back to Dr. Saia’s office and sit myself in front of him at his desk. Instead of calling the police Dr. Saia got on the phone and got mom admitted for surgery the next day. Obviously the quicker you treat cancer the better your chance of survival. It worked for mom and she did in fact survive! It also worked for me when Anne got me in to see my PCP when I was
