by Rick Davis - This Incredible Adventure Called Life

No idea how I avoided hitting my head on the rocks below but somehow I landed flat on my back in 4 inches of water with a smooth 2 inch, rounded river rock bed that absorbed some of the impact.

It hurt but no blood or broken bones, just a tiny little bruise that went across both butt cheeks and down my left leg.

Rough day but I survived.

The Obstacle Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

I was blessed to be able to attend the Boy Scouts National Jamboree in 1969 in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. The local council organized a trip for 30 scouts and we took a bus from Belleville, Illinois all the way to Idaho and back, 3,600 miles.

Along the way we slept at military bases, ate with the soldiers and even got to participate in several base tours and activities such as the obstacle course.
