In order to keep the property safe for everyone, sellers, buyers and agents, masks have to be worn by everyone and gloves worn by the agents to avoid any contamination of any areas of the property. Boots also are required to be worn when anybody enter the property (if someone is living there). Some disclosure paperwork have to be signed (PEAD - Property Entry Advisory and Declaration) by the prospective buyers and agent before they venture into the property, to avoid any liabilities after the fact. Despite all of this showings continued to happen, and sales conyinued in the same pace as before.
INOVATTIONS THAT ACCELERATED DUE TO COVID
“Virtual Open Houses” were a technological solution that became main stream to overcame the need to show the properties and turn out to be very popular during the pandemic period, and look that will stay after the pandemic passes. Another tech solution that became widely used was the “Virtual Tour” of a property, which can be made with photos on video, or be a short video to highlight the features of the property. That also looks like it will become a main stream and a standard way of advertise properties for sale in social media. Until we move to a post-COVID time, real estate sales will heavily rely on Virtual Showings and use that to select the most interested and able buyers before schedule a live showing. That, in fact, might become a standard even after a post-COVID time.
