Simple and minor repairs to your home can boost your chances of making that sale. However, this doesn’t mean you need a major improvement or an overhaul of your entire home! Remember the 80/20 rule, and focus your efforts on the updates and repairs that bring the greatest returns on your investment.
FOCUS ON THESE SMALL HOME IMPROVEMENTS
First, you need to focus on which home improvements to make—the ones that won’t take months or break the bank, but increase your home’s value and salability. Small improvements in most of the rooms, including the home’s exterior, are what you should focus on. Here are some tips to get you started. • Take a buyer’s perspective. The first glance is often enough to garner a buyer’s interest—or turn them off. Look at the exterior and interior. • Clean, clean, and clean. This is your first starting point before you consider any upgrades. Improve the appearance of your house by decluttering, cleaning out debris, fixing up your garden, and painting and/or polishing the front door to make it more welcoming. • Painting is one of the easiest, cost-friendly, and valuable home improvements you can do.
