CHAPTER 14

REPAIRS OR TOUCHUPS TO IMPROVE VALUE First, keep in mind that you don’t need a giant improvement to achieve your goal. Small improvements introduced in almost every room, including the exterior of the house, is what you’re aiming for. Here are some tips to get you started:

• Clean, clean, and clean. Nothing looks more appealing and eye- catching than a neat and clean house. Start improving the appearance of your house by cleaning out the debris, making your garden look like an ideal place and painting or polishing the front door to make it more welcoming. • Decluttering is also a part of cleaning, so get rid of things you don’t need to make room for new ones. The first glance is usually enough to tell a lot about a house. Go out and see how other people would judge your exterior. Does it need repainting? Is there a walkway that you can highlight by introducing some flowers? Keep it simple but try to make it neat. • The kitchen usually needs an upgrade, whether it’s been used or is still new and untouched. Renovating it using modern décor is going to instantly improve the value of your home.
