• Shelter pets: If you have pets, you’ll need to do more than just hide them from pictures; you need to find somewhere to shelter them, as well as remove any evidence of them. • Accessorize: A few home accessories with colors that “pop” will go a long way. For example, bright sofa pillows, a healthy green plant, or a vase of colorful flowers can be strategically placed in each room. • Brighten: Are your pictures too dark or washed out? Is there not enough natural light coming from the windows? Add some light fixtures or lamps to lighten things up. Bright LED lamps in the corners or off-camera can give the perfect boost to a dark room. Most professional house photographers have a staff of graphic editors that balance shadows, light, contrasts and can even blue the sky. Exterior Pictures: Photos of the outside of your home are equally important. They can make or break a sale; if they’re high quality, they can provide the bait you need to garner the interest of prospective buyers, who will then show interest in seeing the inside. When taking pictures of your home’s exterior, make sure you have the following areas covered: • Lawncare: Whether you do it yourself or hire someone else, give your lawn a clean, close cut. Take care of stubborn weeds and extra grass along pathways, the house, and around trees. Don’t forget to trim any bushes. • Landscape: You don’t have to have a green thumb to improve the look of your yard. Up your landscaping game by planting a variety of colorful flowers, adding some mulch, and installing some small LED lights along any
